Thank you for your comment and I agree with you as most would that Wicca has been around for only a short time, maybe 60 to 70 years or so.

The Symbols themselves that we use in Wicca are much older. The pentacle itself was used before Wicca was around by Christians, believe it or not. There is a Church south of Ottawa ON with a stained glass window of a Pentacle in it from many years ago. I think the author meant that the symbols are old, not Wicca. None the less they are now Wiccan Symbols still.

I find your use of quotations a little ambiguous since the quote you have comes from no where in the article I could find. Please explain this for the readers.

Well, no. Wicca is 70 or so years old. “Symbols Wiccans have taken from other groups” have been around for millenia, but not ‘wicca symbols’ [sic].

Jeff, I don’t know of any jewellery from either of our suppliers with Marcasite.

From Wikipedia

Marcasite is often mistakenly confused with pyrite, but marcasite is lighter and more brittle. Specimens of marcasite often crumble and break up due to the unstable crystal structure, and it is this crystal structure that is the main difference between marcasite and pyrite.
