As most of you may already know, the US Dollar has been dropping steadily over the last four years. When SacredKiln.com first opened our doors the Canadian Dollar would buy about $0.74 US. Today they are close to par… I think Canadian Dollars may actually be worth more today.

As a result, over the years we have lowered prices on our imported products from the USA. This is not done overnight as we all would like. Unfortunately it must be done over time as we replace our inventory with new orders. Since much of what we have on the store was purchased at higher prices (higher exchange rate) we can not reduce these prices until we buy new products at the lower price (lower exchange rate).

I hope that I can make this clear to you, that we do not try to take advantage of the exchange rate with our customers. It has been a constant struggle for us to be competitive with US based stores with our floating currency rates. We constantly monitor US prices for the same goods, watch the exchange rates and work hard to keep our prices fair and at the same time stay in business to serve you.

The reason this store was opened was to bring affordable and quality pagan products to remote pagans who have no access to pagan stores. We also didn’t want to be the same as everyone else, selling exactly the same merchandise as 100 other online pagan stores. We strive to bring you unique products as well. It has been challenging but also rewarding as you can see by our testimonials on the ‘about us’ page.

At one of our esbats I brought up the topic of ‘Do the Gods exist’. Not as a challenge to anyone but more for an existentialist type discussion. Some of the questions that came up and thoughts that were provoked were quite interesting.

* If we stop worshipping the Gods, will they cease to exist?

* If we didn’t exist as a people, would the Gods exist?

* If the Gods didn’t exist would we exist? Sort of a Symbiotic relationship was developing here.

* Are all Gods one God (just different facets to different peoples of the Earth) or are they individual Gods.

* Is it better to worship an individual Deity (facet) than a generic lord or lady, Universal Energy? Do you get better results, attention from Deity if you’re specific? Sort of direct line to Deity rather than a general call for help to the Universe.

Nothing really new and no real answer here, just lots of food for thought…

Something that I brought up during all this discussion too was that we sometimes feel that there is something spiritually lacking in life. Is it possible that if you don’t worship Deity, the Gods, that the magick in your life dissipates? I mean, if there is that symbiotic relationship with Deity, and if worshipping Deity gives the Gods power and therefore magick to manifest change in your life, then it follows that if you stop worshipping then the power to bring magick into your life and manifest changes isn’t there.
