Deity is about the interconnectedness of the Universe. Since everything in the Universe is filled with Divine energy, we are all, in a way, connected with each other and with the Earth. At the atomic level, we are all one. Magick works because of this interconnectedness. In Wicca we see deity as both God and Goddess and in most cases more than one God and more than one Goddess. Wicca is Polytheism in belief and worships multiple Gods or Deities.
For me, Deity is found on the sub-atomic level where everything is made up of the same stuff. Sub-atomic particles are all there is and they interconnect throughout the Universe. Think of a stone falling into a pond of water, watch as the ripples move in a circle outwards. It is impossible for an action not to cause a reaction throughout the Universe because of this interconnectedness at the sub-atomic level. We are all one here. Pure energy combined in different patterns to manifest in solid forms of people, trees, water, air and every other thing on the planet. This is where I see Deity.
If you were a small sub-atomic particle what would you see around you? You would see other sub-atomic particles and nothing else. Because that’s all there really is. This solid form we have is just a culmination of sub-atomic particles coming together in a not so random pattern. What determines the pattern is the mystery. That is where Deity comes in. What power controls the patterns of the Universe?
We are interconnected with Deity in that we are a part of Deity and Deity is a part of us. Having said that then we can influence the Universe on the sub-atomic level with our thoughts, which are nothing more than that same energy that the Universe is made up of.
Deepak Chopra speaks volumes about sup-atomic particles in almost all of his books.

We touched on this, all too briefly, yesterday. Unfortunately, it was neither the time or place to get into this, in depth. The sub-atomic theory is interesting and I find that it relates, a great deal, to Jung and the concept of collective unconscious. All beings inter-related - forced, if I can use that word, to be connected, whether this is accepted or not. It simply “is.” As for deity, I tend toward the archetype school of thought - man creating the deity concepts based on numbers/belief.
The collective with a particular concept of what a deity may or may not represent, creating the deity, in their own image. Man creating gods.
If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it fall, does it make a sound?
The Universe was here well before man was. So then my reply is that the gods were here well before man. (so long as you believe my first post)
Man creating the gods? I agree but only creating our concept of the gods so that our puny minds can comprehend something so mind-boggling.
