The reason a spell does or doesn’t work is the same as why any endeavour does or doesn’t work. Either you didn’t try or you were filled with doubt about your success. Failure in most things is due to your own doubts about yourself and your abilities. Spellcraft is much the same in that if you don’t focus your attention on the outcome of your spell or if you have any doubts about it working then most likely it won’t work.

This is the main reason Wiccans do not tell anyone about spells that they have cast. As soon as you tell someone, even your best friend, about your spell they will inevitably tell you that you did it wrong, or that they would have done it differently. Doubt is cast and there is little you can do about it now.

Another reason a spell may not work is because you’ve done little to help it on it’s way. The world we live in is on the physical plane and we should do as much on this plane as possible to manifest what we want too, not just do a spell and sit back and wait. If you want that job, casting a spell won’t make them knock on your door. Get that C.V. out there too and brush up on your interview skills. Your desire is also important in making a spell work. If you’re not putting in the effort physically then it’s likely your desire for the outcome isn’t strong either and the spell won’t work.
